Sunset over Glacier National Park

$100.00

There are times you are in the right place at the right time. And then there are those instances where you have the right time but have to make it the right place. I was on a drive back from the eastern portion of Glacier National Park, crossing through its southern area and back up the west side via Highway 2 when this sunset started happening. The stretch of highway I was on was heavily wooded and barely offered any views. I had to pull over and test a couple of spots, hoping a short hike would get me to a clearing to set up and photograph the mountains with the sunset over them before I finally found a pullout across from a low hill. I grabbed my gear and scrambled for all my lungs were worth up the side of the hill to get to its crest and finally found a clearing that afforded me a view over the thick forest and across at the Cloudcroft Peaks and Mt. St. Nicholas just as the color really deepened. I had to work fast and only made two or three images that night, but this was one of them.

A part of my “One of Four” series, this photo was made with a Fuji 6x17 film camera. Sadly this camera is now out of commission and all proceeds via the sales of prints from this set will go to help getting this camera to the repair shop and back in action. Thank you!

This panoramic image is printed personally by me and measures approximately 12.5 inches by 40 inches.
