Curly Creek Falls, Washington
As a kid I owned a book called The Rainbow Goblins about a race of mythological creatures that hunted rainbows, lassoed their colors and drank them. In the end (spoiler alert) the rainbows conspired with the flowers to drown the goblins in the very colors they were trying to steal. One of the final illustrations of the book is a landscape literally flowing with color. I think of that scene when I see this image of Curly Creek Falls. It is hard to find a place that is this overflowing with green. Even the river the falls pours into is green. I have only made the scramble to this waterfall a handful of times, but each trip has brought back images that I could get lost and drown in.
A part of my “One of Four” series, this photo was made with a Fuji 6x17 film camera. Sadly this camera is now out of commission and all proceeds via the sales of prints from this set will go to help getting this camera to the repair shop and back in action. Thank you!
This panoramic image is printed personally by me and measures approximately 12.5 inches by 40 inches.
