The Boardman Poplars, Oregon

$100.00

I am fascinated by trees, be they in completely natural forests or found in tree farms such as this. Early on in my years as a photographer it was easy enough to pull off the interstate and wander into this tree farm found near the city of Boardman in northeastern Oregon. The parallel lines and extraordinary symmetry made this a fascinating spot to visit. As the years went on and more and more photographers flocked to this spot to make photos (and hence, trespass) the company that owned the land became much stricter in enforcing the security of their land. Eventually the trees of the farm were harvested and replaced with cropland, lending the images I made in those early years a distinct sense of mono no aware.

A part of my “One of Four” series, this photo was made with a Fuji 6x17 film camera. Sadly this camera is now out of commission and all proceeds via the sales of prints from this set will go to help getting this camera to the repair shop and back in action. Thank you!

This panoramic image is printed personally by me and measures approximately 12.5 inches by 40 inches.
